Are you going to win?
I think you will not be able
What do you gain by running so much being able to run less?
These are some of the comments that I come across every day when I say that I am training to run a Marathon, and yes, they are partly right, I also often ask myself the same questions and the answer that can give them more meaning I found it in the book, Born to Run by Christopher McDougall,
"Running brings together two of our most primary impulses: fear and pleasure"
“We run when we are scared, we run when we are ecstatic, we run when we run from our problems and we run in search of fun”
“And when things get worse, we run even more”
If it is about looking for health, it is enough to exercise 3 times a week, go for a run 30 minutes - 1 hour a week is more than enough to keep us in shape, but taking running a little more seriously is something more than looking for health, it is pure a simple SATISFACTION.
Running becomes a drug, the body and especially the mind become addicted to the feeling of having tried and achieving it, it is a constant state of self-evaluation; I truly believe that it is the best moment of meditation, where the purest and deepest feelings are awakened. Usually, due to the rhythm of life we lead, we do not stop to fully understand, running brings out all these sensations and it is for this I love to run.
It is the only time mine and only mine where I decide what to do, where I find the solution to any problem or doubt that I have.
It is a space of incredible mental clarity, indescribable; It doesn't matter if it's 2, 5, 10, 21 or 42 Kilometers, the feeling is the same, but then why run so much, 42K?
The answer is even more simple and difficult to understand, as I said before, it is a drug and you always want more, more distance, more speed, more often; In my case, I am not a very fast runner, but in the process I have realized that I am able to keep up for hours, at my own pace, and that is why five years ago I decided to give it a go and try to run the Disney Marathon, and well, , hard, no, very hard, but I loved every moment, the sensation of crossing that goal is the purest satisfaction, pleasure and enjoyment that I have felt in my life.
I showed myself that there is no unattainable goal, that believing in something and in oneself and fighting for it is pure happiness; the marathon is not built on the day of the run, that day is like the gala party and as a good gala you have to be dressed to the height, with the most comfortable clothes (look here the new SPECTRUMSS19 collection), the true path to marathon is built all those mornings that you got up early to jog even if it rained or you were very lazy, all the Fridays that you didn't go out because you had to train, all this summed up in an instant.
Happiness is having achieved it after having failed many times
At this moment I am preparing for my fifth marathon, Berlin, and I want to share with you the path that I will take to do so.
From the heart there is nothing impossible if you try
